Iran MPs Continue Debate On Competency Of Proposed Ministers For 3rd Day

Tehran, Aug 14, IRNA – Iran's Parliament (Majlis) presided by Speaker Ali Larijani started the third day of debate on competency of the proposed ministers of President Hassan Rohani on Wednesday. The MPs examined competency of Ali Rabiei for the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare in Wednesday morning session. Debate on competency of proposed ministers started in the Majlis on August 12. The Lawmakers examine the qualification of the would-be ministers in morning and afternoon sessions. On Tuesday’s, the MPs discussed qualification of six proposed ministers including Ali Najafi (nominated for Ministry of Education), Mahmoud Vaezi (Ministry of Communications and Information Technology), Mohammad-Javad Zarif (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi (Ministry of Health). President Rohani attended Majlis sessions on Monday and Tuesday. President Rohani unveiled the list of his proposed cabinet members during his swearing-in ceremony on August 4./end
