Iran MPs To Meet With Swiss President, Parliament Speaker: Lawmaker

Tehran, March 3, IRNA – Iranian parliamentary delegation due to visit Geneva to attend Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting slated for March 16-21 will hold separate meetings with Swiss president and parliament speaker on the sidelines of IPU, lawmaker Moayyed Hosseini Sadr said on Sunday. Speaking to IRNA, Hosseini Sadr who will lead the Iranian delegation to the IPU meeting said the Iranian MPs will also hold talks with parliamentary delegations from ten countries, including Britain, Venezuela and Ecuador. Hosseini-Sadr noted that 15 Iranian legislators selected by Majis (Iranian parliament) are members of the IPU. The IPU meeting was scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan, but as it opposed to participation of two countries in the meeting, Geneva was elected as the host of the 130th IPU meeting in which over 120 countries are expected to attend, Hosseini Sadr said./end
