Iran Negotiators Call Ayatollah Khameneiˈs Fatwa Key Guarantee

Rome, June 14, IRNA – Iranian team of negotiators comprising deputy foreign ministers Seyyed Abbas Araqchi and Majid Takht Ravanchi described a historic fatwa (religious decree) by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the biggest guarantee. Araqchi and Takht Ravanchi made the remarks before departing for Tehran while speaking at the annual meeting of the European Council on Foreign Relations in Rome on Thursday evening. Addressing the present and former European officials, the Iranian deputy foreign ministers and senior negotiators elaborated on Iranˈs objectives and recalled the civilian nature of Iranˈs nuclear program, and said, ˈIranˈs nuclear program lacks any military dimensions and the Supreme Leaderˈs fatwa is the most important religious and political guarantee for this issue.ˈ The European officials during the meeting were informed about Iranˈs views on the regional issues, including Iran and Syria.
