Iran Not To Retreat From Pursuing Nuclear Technology: VP

Tehran, June 16, IRNA – First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri said in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, on Monday that the Islamic Republic will not abandon pursuance of nuclear technology. Jahangiri made the remarks in a meeting with Cuban President Raoul Castro on the sidelines of the Group-77 plus China Summit. He stressed that Iranˈs peaceful nuclear activities are transparent and under direct supervision of International Atomic Energy Agency. Iran and Cuba share identical views regarding campaign against bullying powers, he said, adding the two countries could develop mutual construction cooperation. Castro, for his part, called for reinforcement of relations with Tehran. Praising the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, the Cuban president referred to Iran as an influential and powerful country. Iran has in recent years boosted its amicable ties with Latin American states especially in economic, trade and industrial areas./end
