Iran, Oman to hold joint session on ISIL

TEHRAN, Nov. 30(MNA) – Iran and Oman will be holding a joint session on combating ISIL on the initiative of Iran. Vahid Ahmadi a member of National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran's Majlis referred to the Iranian parliamentary delegation's visit to Oman on Nov. 24 and said, “during the meetings with Omani FM and chairman of Oman's Shura Council, regional developments as well as issues on the nuclear talks were discussed.” “Iran has proposed a joint session with the Omani parliament to consult about the issues caused by the Takfiri groups,” said the MP, “this session can help with coordination between the two countries in regard to combating ISIL, and with its proposal to the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union whose main objective is to counter Takfiri groups that have tarnished the reputation of Islam and are causing insecurity in the region.” The joint session has been on the initiative of Iran, and Oman has accepted the invitation to have more cooperation with Iran in regard to the Takfiri activities in the region.
