Iran-Oman Ties, Excellent Model For Regional Countries

Bandar Abbas, Dec 16, IRNA – Visiting Governor General of Omani province of Musandam, by referring to old relations of Tehran and Muscat, said the ties can be an excellent model for other regional countries. Khalifa bin al-Murdas al-Busaidy told IRNA on Saturday evening that consolidation of bilateral ties is on agenda of both countries officials. Al-Busaidy, who is heading a 40 strong man delegation including directors of economic and trade companies, members of Musandam Chamber of Commerce and a number of state directors has arrived in Bandar Abbas, capital of Hormozgan province, to attend the 15th joint meeting of the two provinces. Reminding the strategic position of the two provinces in the two sides of the Hormoz Straight, Busaidy said that holding such joint meetings can be a big help for economic, trade and maritime developments. He added that Oman is trying to prepare appropriate ground for execution of past agreements by holding joint meetings between private and public sectors of the two provinces. During its 2-day visit to Iran, the Omani delegation will visit a number of economic special zones in the area.
