Iran Opposes Military Intervention In Iraq: Spokeswoman

Tehran, June 15, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said on Saturday that Iran opposes any military intervention in Iraq. ˈThe Iraqi government enjoys necessary combat readiness and capacity and popular motivation to stand up to the terrorist and extremist agents,ˈ she said. Rejecting reports that Iran sends troops to Iraq, Afkham said any move complicating the situation would not serve the Iraqi people.
