Iran-Pakistan Coordinate Campaign Against Terrorists, Drug Traffickers

Tehran, Dec 19, IRNA - Iran and Pakistan made coordination for campaign against terrorists and drug traffickers, Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said on Tuesday. He made the remarks in a meeting with Pakistani Deputy Minister of Controlling Narcotic Drugs Javid Iqbal on the sidelines of the Sixth Iran-Pakistan-Afghanistan Tripartite Ministerial Meeting in Tehran. Mohammad Najjar said Iran and Pakistan would expand their security ties and cooperation and quick exchange of information to control terrorists and bandits movements on the joint border areas. He called for further expansion of Tehran-Islamabad cooperation at all regional and international levels to combat drug trafficking. The two-day meeting of representatives of Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan was held in Tehran to intensify fight against narcotic drugs and terrorists. The first day of the meeting which is to make use of existing opportunities and proposals to accelerate fights against narcotic drugs, held at the level of anti-drug experts in which the United Nations deputy secretary general participated./end
