Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline Project To Meet Energy Requirements : Min.

Islamabad, March 12, IRNA – Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline project is a great development to meet the energy requirements of the country, a media report said on Monday. ‘Business Recorder’ reported that talking to state television, Kaira said that this project has great importance in view of energy demand that is why government has started the mega project. Replying to a question, he said that IP gas pipeline project is not against or in favor of any country except Pakistan. He said that head of the state of both the countries are showing great interest to inaugurate the mega project because it has great importance for regional cooperation. Replying to another question about Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) project, he said this project is too difficult to start because it has link with peace in Afghanistan. He said that the regional stability could not be possible without maintaining peace in Afghanistan. Kaira said that Pakistan has facing terrorism and rendered lot of sacrifices in this regard adding the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership has sacrificed their lives and always supported the efforts of peace. He said PPP leadership always taken the decisions in the larger interest of the country and did not compromise about national interest./end
