Iran-Pakistan joint summit on border security launches

ZAHEDAN, Apr. 29 (MNA) – 18th Summit of Iran-Pakistan Border Commission kicked off today in Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchistan province, to discuss border security and fighting terrorism. A 20-member delegation of Pakistani state and federal officials, leading by Seyfollah Cheta, Secretary General of Baluchistan state of Pakistan, arrive in Zahedan this morning. Ali-Asghar Mirshekari, Iranian co-chairman of the meeting, said the conference will discuss common border issues of Iran and Pakistan including border trade, border markets, promotion of border security, and fighting terrorism and organized crimes. “Pakistani delegation will also hold meetings with Sistan and Baluchistan governor, officials, and businessmen,” added he. Based on the agreements between the two countries, Iran-Pakistan joint meetings will be held every six month either in Sistan and Baluchistan or in Quetta, Pakistan.
