Iran-Pakistan Share Deep-rooted Ties: Pakistani Lawmaker

Islamabad, July 16, IRNA -- A Pakistani Senator on Monday said that Iran and Pakistan have a deep-rooted relationship which will further strengthen with the passage of time. Talking to IRNA Senator Col (R) Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) said that Iran and Pakistan are like two brothers which are tied in the eternal bond of friendship. “Iran and Pakistan are like one country,” he said. The politician added that Iran and Pakistan share same religion and culture. “You can choose friends but you cannot choose neighbors and Iran is not only our neighbor but a close friend who has always helped Pakistan,” noted Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi. The political leader expressing his views said that some countries in the world are trying to create problems for the strong Iran-Pakistan ties. He added that US is against Iran because the country is following an independent policy and has refused to take dictation from US. The Senator said that Iran has become a shining example of resistance for the world. “Iran is a brave nation that has stood up against the western hegemony,” viewed the lawmaker. The Senator said that western pressure on Iran’s peaceful nuclear program is baseless and unjustified. He said that US and some western countries are against Iran because the country has become a strong power against the nefarious designs of Zionists against Muslims. “Iran is standing like a lion against western conspiracies against Muslims,” said the political leader. Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi was of the view that all Muslim countries should stand with Iran against western anti-Islam plots. Expressing his views over Iran-Pakistan multi-billion dollar gas pipeline, he said the project signed by two visionary leaders would help to end energy crisis in Pakistan. He added that the project would also bring economic stability in Pakistan. The parliamentarian went on to say that the gas pipeline project would further strengthen Iran-Pakistan relationship. “We have the highest regards for Iran,” he added./end
