Iran To Pay Due Attention To Solidarity Of Islamic World At OIC Meet

Tehran, Aug 13, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said Monday Iran will attend the extraordinary summit meeting of the OIC while paying due attention to the solidarity of Muslim nations. Amir Abdollahian told IRNA that Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi will participate in the ministerial meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation to be held in the holy city of Mecca today. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is to take part in the OIC emergency summit meeting slated for Tuesday, he said, adding that he is to deliver a speech at the event and confer with a number of leaders of the Islamic states. The OIC summit meeting will mainly focus on the issues of Syria and Palestine, said the official. Experts have offered the OIC meeting to hold talks on the issue of the Islamic solidarity as well. The Iranian official called on the participants in the meeting to also review violation of human rights in Bahrain./end
