Iran plays key role in regional security

Moscow, Oct 14, IRNA - A Russian military expert said here on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran plays a pivotal role in establishment of security and tranquility in the region. Talking to IRNA, Colonel Anatoly Tsyganok underscored that Tehran's calculated policies in Middle East, Persian Gulf and the Caucasus region would promote stability in these regions. Ignoring Iran's role in establishment of regional stability is a strategic mistake and would have devastating consequences for the Middle East, he said. Also pointing to Iran's actions for establishing security and stability in Afghanistan and Iraq, Tsyganok added Tehran's foreign policy has been based on the stability of neighboring countries and other regional states.
