Iran Plays Pivotal Role In Syrian Crisis Settlement

Tehran, Oct 26, IRNA - An Iranian lawmaker said on Friday that presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Geneva 2 conference in Syria plays a pivotal role in settling the crisis in this Arab country. Talking to IRNA, Spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran’s Majlis Seyyed Hossein Naghavi Hosseini said the Western countries have also admitted that the Syria conflict cannot be settled without Iran’s engagement. He stressed that Iran will not accept any pre-condition for participating in the Geneva 2 conference. Describing Iran as a powerful and influential country in the region, he underline that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been striving for settlement of Syrian crisis through diplomatic means./end
