Iran plays significant role to restore regional security: Jordan

Beirut, Feb 19, IRNA – Head of legal committee of Jordan's House of Representatives Mustafa Yaghi said on Thursday that the country's king, government and parliament are determined to bolster relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Head of Jordan parliamentary group met with the head of Iran's Parliamentary Friendship Group Mojtaba Ferdousipour in Amman. In the meeting, the two sides studied ways to develop relations and cooperation as well as exchange of parliamentary delegations between the two countries. The two sides also exchanged views on expansion of parliamentary cooperation. The Islamic Republic of Iran is a very important country in the region and Jordan calls for expansion of all-out relations and cooperation in the economic sectors as well as fight with extremism and violence. The Iranian ambassador called the role and cooperation of Jordanian people and its parliament in regional developments as very significant. Referring to the recent meeting between the Iranian and Jordanian speakers of parliament on the sidelines of the Islamic Inter-parliamentary Union held in Turkey, he voiced the readiness of the Iranian Majlis for exchange of parliamentary delegations. Given regional crisis such as in Syria, the Iranian ambassador called for exchange of views to help improve the security situation in the region.
