Iran President Off To New York For UN General Assembly

Tehran, Sept 22, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, heading a high-ranking delegation, left here Saturday for New York to attend and address the 67th regular session of the United Nations General Assembly. Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, Minister of Health Marziyeh Vahid Dastjerdi, Head of Presidential Office Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei, senior Advisor to President Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi and a number of other cabinet members are accompanying Ahmadinejad to New York. The President was officially seen off at the airport by first Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi. This is President's 8th trip to New York to participate in the UN General Assembly session. During his stay, the President is to review major international issues with his counterparts from various world countries, particularly those from the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) member states. The President is also planned to have several interviews with world media, and hold meetings with Iranians residing in New York./end
