Iran President Receives New Tunisian Envoy

Tehran, Dec 30, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad received new Tunisian Ambassador to Tehran Khaled Zitouni here on Saturday. In the meeting, President Ahmadinejad called ties between Iran and Tunisia 'very good' with historical and cultural background. He added that Iranians are very pleased to see their Tunisian brothers in the direction of progress. According to the report of Presidential Office Website, the president said a good opportunity has been created to strengthen mutual cooperation in all fields. President Ahmadinejad said the world is looking for a new culture upon justice, honesty, respect and humanity and such characters are deeply in cultures of our two nations. The new Tunisian ambassador to Tehran submitted his credentials to President Ahmadinejad and said that Iran and Tunisia have been connected with each other with a historical friendship and brotherhood. He underlined his government's intention to strengthen relations with Iran in all fields and said that one of achievements of the revolution in Tunisia was the new opportunity to build new ties with Islamic states./end
