Iran Ready To Lift Visa Requirements With Iraq

Abadan, Khuzestan Prov, Aug 21, IRNA – Iran's Consul-General in Basra, Iraq, Hamid-Reza Mokhtasabadi on Tuesday voiced Iran's readiness for lifting visa requirements with Iraq. Speaking to IRNA, the diplomat said the idea of removing visa requirements between the two capitals was originally raised by Tehran. However, he added, Tehran was presently waiting for Baghdad's decision on the issue. Iran's Consulate-General in Basra issues about 4,000 visas for Iraqi applicants daily, said Mokhtasabadi. He said necessary measures were being taken by Iranian and Iraqi officials for cancellation of visa requirements between the two./end
