Iran Reaffirms Its Commitment To Support Syria

Tehran, Jan 30, IRNA – Iran on Tuesday renewed commitment to support Syria. Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani reaffirmed Iranian commitment to support Syria in a meeting with the Syrian Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Hassoun. Larijani said that the Syrian government and nation are oppressed, adding that the Zionist regime will benefit the most from weakening Syria under the current regional situation. Hassoun, for his part, said that problems facing Syria and Iran are as the result of the extending support for the Palestinians vis-a-vis Israeli occupying regime. He appreciated Iranian supports for Syria and said that Syria will never forget the Iranian support He underlined President Bashar Assadˈs role to maintain Syrian territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
