Iran repels Israeli cyber attack on oil platforms

TEHRAN,Oct.9(MNA) -- A recent cyber attack carried out against the Iranian Offshore Oil Company by the Zionist regime and a number of other countries has been repelled, according to the director of the information and communications technology department of the company. “Based on the investigations that have been carried out, the attack had been planned by the regime occupying Quds (Jerusalem) and a number of other countries,” Mohammad Reza Golshani told the Persian service of the Mehr News Agency in an interview published on Monday. “Due to the fact that the Internet network had been separated from the National Data Network, the computer network of the Offshore Oil Company remained unaffected,” Golshani explained. He added, “Telephone communications between the platforms and Iran’s oil and gas operational areas in the Persian Gulf are currently in a normal state, and there exists no problem.” Golshani also said that the enemies of the Islamic system “are not standing idly by” and will probably plan more cyber attacks. “We will considerably enhance the security level of the communications network and Internet (users) through making a series of other technical changes and using satellite networks,” he stated.
