Iran Revolution Has Had Positive Impacts On Region : Russian Diplomat

Moscow, Feb 2, IRNA – A senior Russian diplomat said the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran has had positive impacts on the Middle East developments in the past three decades. In his recent interview with IRNA, Viacheslav Matozov said Iran has turned into an independent country since the victory of the Islamic Revolution. He further appreciated Iran for its great efforts to settle the Syrian crisis and restore peace and tranquility to the region. The Russian expert referred to withdrawal of invitation to Iran to attend the Geneva II conference on Syria on January 22, 2014, as a big mistake. The US and West want to have permanent presence in the strategic region of Middle East, said he adding, but vigilance of the regional nations will endanger their interests in the region./end
