Iran, Russia Ink MoU On Judicial Co-op

Tehran, June 22, IRNA – Deputy judiciary chief Hojjatoleslam Ebrahim Raessi said on Saturday that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on expansion of judicial cooperation between the two sides. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a meeting of judicial officials in Tehran, he described his recent visit to Moscow as very fruitful and expressed the hope that the MoU would be enforced as soon as possible. The visit took place upon official invitation of the Russian justicel minister, he said. Moscow hosted a meeting of judicial officials from regional countries. In his meeting with Russian justice minister, the two sides explored grounds for expansion of judicial cooperation between the two countries. On the sidelines of the gathering, the Iranian envoy also conferred with judiciary chiefs of India and Belarus as well as Afghan deputy justice chief on expansion of mutual judiciary cooperation, he said./end
