Iran, Russia sing MoU on facilitation of visa issuance

TEHRAN, Nov. 23 (MNA) – Iran and Russia have signed a memorandum of understanding on facilitation of visa issuance for group tours. The agreement was signed on Tuesday in Tehran during the fifth session of the Iranian-Russian commission for consular collaboration. The directors of consulate departments of the Iranian and Russian foreign ministries, Ali Chegini and Yevgeny Ivanov, sealed the agreement on introducing simpler rules for the issuance of travel visas to tour groups. The two sides further voiced satisfaction over the achieved agreements, and called for continued dialogue between Iran and Russia for expansion of consular relations. An intergovernmental agreement on the facilitation of visa issuance for trips to Russia and Iran was first put forward on February 6, 2016, which was later signed on Nov. 23 by the two countries’ premiers during Russian President’s visit to Tehran.
