Iran says execution of long-term roadmap with Venezuela underway

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Saturday that “with all our strength, we are putting into practice the provisions of a long-term cooperation roadmap between Iran and Venezuela.” The foreign minister made the remarks in a meeting with Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Julio Ron Martinez on the sidelines of an ongoing “meeting of national coordinators of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations” which kicked off in the Iranian capital earlier today. Referring to the exchange of a large number of delegations between the two countries over the past year, Amirabdollahian said that this carries a powerful message of solidarity between Iran and Venezuela. He said that the visit to Tehran by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was a turning point in relations between Tehran and Caracas. The Venezuelan deputy foreign minister, for his part, urged the need for a collective fight against unilateralism in the world. He voiced his country’s commitment to bilateral agreements with Iran.
