Iran to send its first cargo of medical supplies to Syria

TEHRAN, March 15 (MNA) – Iran planned to send its first cargo of medical supplies to Syria, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast announced on Tuesday. Arrangements have been made between the Iranian Foreign Ministry and the Syrian government and the first cargo will be sent by the Iranian Red Crescent Society, he stated. However, Mehmanparast did not mention the exact date when the cargo will be dispatched to the country. The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson also announced that medical equipment and a number of ambulances will be sent to Syria by ship next week. In addition, he said that the Iranian Health Ministry plans to send a cargo of medical supplies to the Arab country in days. Syria has been gripped by unrest triggered by deadly protests against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, which Iran says is a foreign conspiracy fueled by the United States and its allies meant to undermine the country, which is on the front line of the resistance against the Zionist regime in the region. Certain sanctions have been imposed on Syria.
