Iran Showed It Is Open To Nuclear Transparency: Analyst

Tehran, July 21, IRNA – Iran showed within a decade of nuclear talks including the recent negotiations in Vienna that it is open to nuclear transparency, Hassan Beheshtipour, an expert on international affairs said on Sunday. Talking to IRNA, he noted that despite pressures and limitations, Iranian negotiating team had a brilliant and active presence in six rounds of talks in Vienna. The negotiating team did his best to defend the countryˈs nuclear rights enshrined in the NPT laws and regulations, Beheshtipour underlined. He asserted that this round of nuclear talks was significant among all rounds of negotiations held in a decade of nuclear disputes between Iran and West. The analyst advised the negotiating team to avoid further extension of nuclear talks between Iran and G5+1. Iran showed its desire for cooperation with the world to answer the ambiguities and questions, he added. The analyst in the meantime referred to the countryˈs economic agenda including the enforcement of ˈResistance Economyˈ policies and noted that by boosting the economy, Iran will have the upper hand in the upcoming nuclear talks. Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council– the US, France, Britain, Russia and China – plus Germany have agreed on the extension of talks until November 24 with a view to achieving a permanent deal that would end the decade-old dispute over Iran’s nuclear energy program. The two sides signed an interim deal in Geneva, Switzerland, on November 23, 2013, for a six-month period. The deal, which took effect on January 20, expired today. Under the deal, dubbed the Geneva Joint Plan of Action, the six countries undertook to provide Iran with some sanctions relief in exchange for Iran agreeing to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities./end
