Iran Sincerely Seeks Solution To Syrian Crisis

Islamabad, Oct 20, IRNA -- A Pakistani editor on Friday said that Iran is an influential country in Middle East and sincerely seeks solution to the Syrian crisis, adding that Iran wants to bring stability to the Muslim world and is ready to help resolve the Syrian crisis. 'Iran wants to bring stability to Muslim world and is ready to help resolving the crisis in Syria,' Saleem Bukhari editor of ‘The Nation’ daily told IRNA. He endorsed the statement of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that there must be a ceasefire in Syria during an Islamic holiday next week. 'It is a very sane statement,' viewed the editor. Expressing his views, the analyst said that West has been leveling baseless allegations on Iran. He added that US has to quit from Afghanistan and Iraq after years of engagements, as use of power is not the solution to any issue. Saleem Bukhari viewed that peace cannot be restored in Syria by changing the government over there. 'This issue needs proper attention of the world and should not be resolved according the desires of western governments,' he pointed out. The senior journalist strongly believed that Syria is being destabilized to please the Zionist regime. 'Zionists are afraid of strong Syria,' he opined. He said that insurgents in Syria are being provided with advance weapons which are not even used by the Syrian army. Saleem Bukhari added that the basic objective of such move is to create instability in the Arab state. The analyst strongly condemned the role of leaders of some Muslim countries in the Middle East, adding that it is unfortunate that these leaders are helping US in imposing its agenda. He said that people of Arab states are fed up with their despotic rulers and soon the Arab spring would engulf the whole region. The editor said that Muslims will not allow US to capture their countries. 'There is a realization in Muslim Ummah over the role of US in their states,' he pointed out. Saleem Bukhari said that only regional countries can find the solution to crisis in Syria and Iran can play a key role in this regards. 'They have to find a permanent solution to the Syrian crisis without the interference of US and its allies,' opined the analyst. Saleem Bukhari was of the view that Syria is being punished for supporting the cause of Palestine. He advised Arab states to follow independent policies and develop strong friendly relations with Islamic Republic of Iran./end
