Iran Strongly Condemns Terrorist Act In Beirut

Tehran, Dec 28, IRNA – Foreign Ministry strongly condemned terrorist act of explosion in Beirut on Friday, which left a number of people killed or injured, including ex-minister of finance Mohammad Shatah. Foreign Ministry, in a statement, condoled with Lebanese nation and expressed sympathy with victims families and underlined necessity of identification and punishment of perpetrators as fast as possible. According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department, the statement said, undoubtedly, Lebanese revolutionary nation and political groups as well as officials will thwart the ominous plot of the Zionists and their regional agents by maintaining unity and awareness. In a strong blast in Beirut on Friday morning, Lebanon ex-minister of Finance Mohammad Shatah was killed. In this explosion, five persons were killed and 70 others were wounded. Shatahs driver was also killed in this incident. Shatah was advisor to Saad Hariri in international affairs. Beirut Police Chief Mohammad Tabayeli confirmed that Shatah and his driver have been killed in this terrorist act./end
