Iran successfully fires Shahab, Ghadr missiles

TEHRAN, Mar. 09 (MNA) – Iran has successfully launched Shahab ballistic missiles and Ghadr long-range missiles on the last day of the Eqtedar-e Velayat military drills. The last day of large-scale missile drills, code-named Eqtedar-e Velayat, begun early Tuesday with the aim to display Iran’s ‘deterrence power’ and the country’s “full readiness to confront all kinds of threats against the Islamic Revolution, establishment and Iran's territorial integrity,” according to the IRGC division. The military drills were held at several stages by firing ballistic missiles from silo-based launchers in different locations across the country. According to reports, Shahab ballistic missiles and long-range precision-guided Ghadr missiles have been fired from the general area in Qom Desert. Shahab-1 and Shahb-2, as well as Ghadr-H and Ghadr-F missiles successfully hit the predetermined targets and destroyed them. Maj. Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari who was speaking during the final round of Eqtedar-e-Velayat military drill on Tuesday, said “the drill made this message across to the enemies that defensive strength and national security are inviolate redlines for us and are by no means negotiable.” White House spokesman Josh Earnest announced on Tuesday that Iran's ballistic missile tests did not violate Tehran's nuclear agreement that went into effect in January.
