Iran, Sudan Presidents Stress Increasing Ties

Tehran, Feb 7, IRNA – Presidents of Iran and Sudan on Thursday stressed further boost in bilateral ties at bilateral and international levels. In a meeting at the sideline of the 12th Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Summit in Cairo, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad discussed regional developments as well as topics pertaining to the Islamic world with his Sudanese counterpart President Omer Hassan al-Bashir. He said the two countries enjoyed very deep brotherly ties and confronted common enemies. Stressing the role of resistance, tolerance and unity as the only ways to achieve the ultimate victory and dignity, President Ahmadinejad said resistance will make enemies weaker everyday and improve conditions for people. Underlining the need for expansion of ties between the two countries in various economic, cultural and political areas, he called on the two sides to use all their potentials to safeguard the interests of their nations. The Sudanese president described Tehran-Khartoum ties as excellent in all areas and said enjoying Islamic attitudes and identical point of views are reasons for such friendly relations between the two countries./end
