Iran-Turkey Can Help Prevent World Media Unipolarism - IRNA Chief

Ankara, June 26, IRNA – Managing director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) said here Tuesday that Tehran and Ankara can help prevent world media from moving towards unipolarism. Majid Omidi Shahraki made the remarks in a meeting with Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Levent Gumrukcu. He underlined the need for establishment of independent media with the help of Iran and Turkey. Referring to mutual agreement inked between IRNA and Turkish Anatoly, Omidi Shahraki called for fostering bilateral relations between the two. He said IRNA is ready to share media experiences with Anatoly. For his part, the Turkish official called for further media cooperation between the two news agencies. Referring to the latest developments in Turkey, Gumrukcu said such events may happen in any country. He regretted that certain international media have been trying to reflect the current situation in Turkey as unusual and critical. Promotion of Iran-Turkey cooperation will help reflect the realities of the two countries./end
