Iran, Turkmenistan hold Joint Consular, Border Commission

TEHRAN, Feb. 17 (MNA) – The 11th session of Iran-Turkmenistan Joint Consular and Border Cooperation Commission was held on Monday morning at Turkmen Foreign Ministry. Pointing to the developing trend of bilateral relations in political, economic and cultural fields at the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vafa Hajiyev expressed hope that the outcome of the joint commission would result in an increase in issuance of visas, mutual respect for both countries' citizens and a higher volume of various transactions between the two nations. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hassan Qashqavi who headed the Iranian delegation in the joint commission, for his part, said that holding an exclusive exhibition as well as an Iranian Culture Week in March 2015, and promoting the level of visits by Iranian and Turkmen officials will accelerate the improvement of ties. He resembled the consular and border cooperation between the two countries as a gate for the two nations' relations which lays the ground for different types of cooperation in various fields.
