Iran-UAE Follow Up Agreements

Abu Dhabi, April 17, IRNA – Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said Interior Ministries of Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have appointed two representatives to follow up mutual agreements. At the end of the 3-day visit to UAE, Mohammad-Najjar told reporters that having good relations with neighboring states, especially the UAE, is Iranˈs main strategy. He added that during his trip to the UAE, he had meetings with senior officials of the country and reached good understandings. The minister underlined that security should be established in the region, adding that security is the ground for development and progress, which should be established collectively by regional countries, because aliens are following their own interests. He stressed that aliens have not created security for the region, but many of insecurities are created by them and their strategy in the region is to create disunity. Mohammad-Najjar continued that in a meeting with the UAE officials, it was decided that issuing visas for Iranian businessmen and tourists should be facilitated. He also added that the two countries have good cooperation in the fields of trade and economy and ground for security cooperation should be prepared, too. The minister said that in the meetings with the UAE officials, Iran proposed 13 issues, which were agreed totally by the officials and it was decided that two representatives of the two ministries follow up the issues and report to the Interior ministers./end
