Iran Urges Iraqi Kurds To Protect Baghdad Gov't Against Terrorists: Deputy FM

Tehran, June 16, IRNA – Tehran wants Iraqˈs Kurdistan region to support the countryˈs federal government against the terrorist groups, Iranˈs Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Monday. Tehran will discuss mutual relations as well as the latest developments in Iraq regarding the terrorist activities of Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) known as Daesh with Nichirvan Barzani, the visiting prime minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, he noted. Talking to IRNA, Amir-Abdollahian confirmed that Tehran had conferred with UK on Iraq developments. Representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Nazem Dabbagh in an interview with IRNA on Sunday called Daesh terrorist group a threat to security of the entire region.
