Iran urges NKorea's vigilance in talks with US

Tehran, June 11, IRNA – Iran Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Monday advised North Korean leaders to 'exercise complete vigilance' in their negotiations with the United States. 'The US has a history of sabotage, violation and withdrawal with respect to bilateral and multilateral international commitments,' Qasemi cautioned Pyongyang during his weekly press conference on Monday. 'With regard to the US behaviors, especially Mr Trump's approach since the time he has been in office, Washington has continued to sabotage international agreements and unilaterally withdraw from them,' Qasemi said. He said that especially with reference to the US treatment of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), 'Iran tends not to be optimistic.' 'Tehran believes that the North Korean government should be quite vigilant as the US by nature could not be judged in an optimistic way,' the Foreign Ministry spokesman said. Qasemi stressed that Iran remains to be supportive of peace and security that benefit the people in the Korean peninsula. 'But we are pessimistic about US behaviors,' he stressed. IRNA/1378
