Iran urges reinforcing ties with Russia in fighting organized crimes

Tehran, IRNA – Head of the Iranian Supreme Court Ahmad Mortazavi Moghaddam referred to Iran's membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and stressed strengthening cooperation in the fight against organized and terrorist crimes. Mortazavi Moghadam made the remarks in a meeting with Chief Justice of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Lebedev. He underlined cementing cooperation in fighting organized and terrorist crimes, saying that Iran has agreements with Russia on criminal and civil affairs and extradition of convicts. Iran is ready to implement these agreements, especially in the field of extraditing convicts, he added. He offered readiness for exchanging experiences in the field of electronic proceedings and electronic judicial services, saying that legal proceedings are carried out electronically in Iran. Iranian courts and hearings, especially in some provinces, are online so that the prisoner is tried remotely and inside the prison, he stated.
