Iran-US Cultural, Tourism Ties Should Replace Sanctions : US Businessman

New York, April 22, IRNA – The US tradesman Marshall P. Cloyd said the policy of bolstering cultural and tourism relations should replace US sanctions. Cloyd who is active in a campaign to confront sanctions against Iran and establishment of political and economic relations with the Islamic Republic also said the history of US sanctions against other countries prove that such policies have been of opposite outcome. The chairman of the international company of Intermarine Incorporated in an exclusive interview with IRNA regretted that the US government is not learning lessons from the past. He called for promotion of Tehran-Washington cultural and social relations and said the Persian language, poetry and music could be used as a huge capacity to develop and improve ties between the two nations. He believed the visit of the Iranian wrestling team to the US could help improve mutual understanding and familiarity. Cloyd condemned the opening of the terrorist Mujahedeen-e Khalq Organization (MKO) office in Washington./end
