Iran, US diplomats resume nuclear talks in Zurich

Tehran, Jan 24, IRNA – Iranian and US nuclear negotiators began the second day of their talks in the Swiss city of Zurich on Saturday represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi heading the Iranian side and his US counterpart Wendy Sherman leading the opposite side. Araqchi and Sherman held a five-hour discussion on Friday exchanging views on remaining issues including the number of Iran’s centrifuges and the pace of lifting the anti-Iranian sanctions. Deputy Foreign Minister on Euro-American Affairs Majid Takht-e Ravanchi, Director of the Political and International Security Department of the Foreign Ministry Hamid Baeedinejad, Foreign Ministerˈs Advisor Davood Mahammadnia, as well as two officials from Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Amiri and Pejman Rahimian are other members of the Iranian delegation. The European Union is represented in the talks by Helga Schmid, Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs in the EU's European External Action Service. This round of talks is to end Saturday evening.
