Iran Vice President: Islamophobia To Lead Nowhere

Tehran, Oct 22, IRNA – Today the world nations are increasingly getting inclined towards monotheist faiths and therefore Islamophobia and created insecurity and extremism will lead nowhere, Vice President for Legal Affair Elham Aminzadeh said here Tuesday. “Today we are witnesses to the creation of a global culture against aggression and extremism after (President) Dr. (Hassan) Rouhani chanted the slogan of World against Violence and Extremism (WAVE),” said Aminzadeh in a WAVE Conference in the University of Tehran. She said that under the prevailing conditions it is not possible to think locally, or even regionally, as the need to think globally is a dire need and international cooperation is needed to uproot aggression and terrorism and establish sustainable peace and welfare for the world nations. “Every monotheist religion has advised to safeguard peace, but unfortunately, we are witnesses to instrumental usage (of religions) aimed at exertion of military hegemonies resorting to aggression,” she said. She posed the logical question: Can we be witnesses to getting killed of women and children in a part of the world and holding of talks about security and friendship in another part simultaneously? “Beyond doubt insecurity expands and if security is threatened somewhere insecurity will also emerge in other places,” said Aminzadeh. She proposed supporting the moderate dialogue free from extremism and totalitarian approaches, as well as cooperation among the different governments and seclusion of those who promote extremism and terrorism./end
