Iran VP: Syrian Nation Overcomes Enemies' Plots

Tehran, Jan 16, IRNA – First Vice-President said that the Zionist regime, the USA and the west have been united to hurt Syrian government, but God willing Syrian nation will overcome all enemies' plots and will be winner in the war. According to the report of Presidential Office website, Mohammad Reza Rahimi in a meeting with Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halki, who arrived in Tehran on Tuesday afternoon heading a high ranking delegation, called mutual relations between the two countries deep-rooted. Rahimi added that friendly and sincerely ties between the two nations have been formed since the first days of victory of Islamic revolution and its firmness has been proven in different times. He continued that Iranians will never forget Syrian support for Iran during the 8-year sacred defense. The VP said that Iran and Syria have common ideals and enemies stressing that our common enemies are coordinated to beat both countries, but firm intention of the two nations will neutralize conspiracies of hegemonic powers. Referring to Syrian president's plan to end violence in the country, the VP said that Iran will support every plan to end conflicts and maintain Syrian authority. Rahimi underlined necessity of efforts of both countries' officials to develop ties and cooperation between Tehran and Damascus in different fields of agriculture and oil adding that promotion of relation in different aspects will guarantee prosperity of both nations. Al-Halki, for his part, by praising Iran's efforts and support from the first days of the Syrian crisis, expressed hope that this visit opens a new chapter in bilateral relations. He underlined that cooperation between Tehran and Damascus in different fields should promote like political and strategic relations. Referring to efforts made by Syrian government to control the crisis, the PM stressed that Syrian nation is confident that they will overcome all problems and will pass these hard days./end
