Iran Warns Bahrain Against Hasty Remarks On Syria, Hezbollah

Tehran, July 2, IRNA – Senior official at the Foreign Ministry on Monday warned Bahraini officials against making ˈunmeasured and hastyˈ comments on Syria and Hezbollah of Lebanon. Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian also condemned Manamaˈs ˈbaselessˈ allegations against Iran, accusing Tehran of interfering in Syrian domestic affairs. Speaking to IRNA exclusively, the diplomat made the remarks while commenting on recent claims made by Bahraini foreign minister during a press conference held at the end of a meeting attended by representatives of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) and those of the European Union on June 30. ˈPresently, a new model of war is underway against Syria by US allies. Enemies of the resistance axis have targeted the Syrians,ˈ Amir-Abdollahian said. Condemning any foreign meddling in Syrian affairs, the diplomat said that war in Syria and arming terrorist groups would have no outcome. Criticizing Manama for using fatal chemical gases against its own people, he urged Bahraini officials to try to find a peaceful solution to the countryˈs political problem instead of ˈraising unfounded accusations against Iran and Syria.ˈ/end
