Iran will not relinquish its nuclear rights: Ayatollah Jannati

TEHRAN, June 16 (MNA) – The leader of this week’s Friday prayers in Tehran said that Iran will not give in to Western pressure to relinquish its right to advance its peaceful nuclear program. “The Iranian nation, which has experienced war, pressure, and various sanctions for years to protect its rights, will never back down on its inalienable right to a peaceful nuclear program,” Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said. Commenting on the next round of talks between Iran and the 5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) scheduled to be held in Moscow on June 18 and 19, he said, “As the negotiations between Iran and the 5+1 group have gone well so far, the Islamic Republic of Iran is hopeful about the Moscow talks.”
