Iran, world’s 4th missile power: Defense minister

Tehran, Dec 20, IRNA – Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan has said that Iran is the world’s fourth missile power after US, Russia and China. He made the announcement in a recent interview with Al-Alam Arab news channel. 'We have upgraded the range of our missiles in accordance with any possible threats,” said the minister adding that Iran is seeking to develop radar-evading missiles. He referred to the national security as one of the key red lines for Iran and noted whatever threatening the country’s national security will be a target for the Iranian armed forces. Referring to Iran’s position regarding activities of the terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS) in Iraq, the minister said, Tehran has made it clear that Iraq’s holy shrines are a red line for Tehran and that it would react to any move against those holy sites./end
