Iran, world powers seek no further extension of talks - Russian diplomat

VIENNA, July 3. /TASS/. The outcome of the talks between Iran and six world powers on Tehran’s nuclear programme will be worthy as the sides are not set to look for alternative options or again extend the negotiations, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has said. "I will not dare to forecast how many hours it will take to complete this, but all the participants intend to end this process without a further extension or second options," the high-ranking diplomat said. "If the successful result is achieved, and we are sure that it will be achieved, the outcome will be worthy," Ryabkov said. "Critics will be convinced that as part of the decision, a very deep control will be established over the key elements of the nuclear programme but this will be done based on cooperation," he said. Ryabkov confirmed that the text of the deal and a number of appendices exist, but "the readiness of the text does not allow saying that the talks at all the levels have been completed." "We are sure that there will be the deal, and it will be comprehensive as the document’s title says," he said. Iran is holding negotiations with Russia, China, the United States, France, Germany and the United Kingdom on an agreement under which the Islamic Republic would curtail its nuclear programme and get all political and economic sanctions lifted. The deadline for talks was initially set for June 30, but it was later postponed to July 7. Read more
