Iranian 1st Vice President Meets UN Sec Gen In Bolivia

Santa Cruz, June 15, IRNA – Iranian 1st Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri who is in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, to participate in G77+China Summit here Friday night, local time, met and conferred with UN Secretary General Ban ki-Moon. The meeting took place minutes ago in the hotel residence of Mr. Ban. The issue at the center of attention of the two officials was the great significance of international cooperation in campaign against terrorism and extremism. The ISIS terrorist grouplet’s invasion against Iraq and the criminal acts it has committed during the short while it has been there was among the pivotal issued not only in this meeting, but also in Mr. Jahangiri’s various meetings in this trip. Jahangiri’s other meetings in Bolivia today included meeting the county’s Senate speaker, President Evo Morales and the Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe. The G77+China Summit is scheduled to be held on Saturday and Sunday, local time, in Bolivia’s Santa Cruz City and the Iranian first vice president will be one of the lecturers in it. The Islamic Republic of Iran is currently the rotating head of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and Bolivia is the present day head of the G77. Bolivia this year took over the rotating presidency of the G77+China, a bloc of developing nations within the United Nations system that has grown to include 133 countries, which also marks its 50th anniversary in its eastern city of Santa Cruz on June 14-15./end
