Iranian Armenians Vote For Presidential, City Council Elections

Tabriz, Eastern Azarbaijan Prov, June 15, IRNA – Head of Azarbaijanˈs Armenian Archdiocese said on Friday that Armenians and Assyrians in this part of the country along with their Muslim compatriots are enthusiastically taking part in presidential and city council elections. Roubic Jananeh told IRNA that this religious minority feels duty-bound to go to polling stations and play its role in the countryˈs destiny. Voting in the elections is a national duty of people of any religions, he said. He added that the presence of Armenian minorities at the polling stations is indicative of unity among Iranian people in defending their beliefs. Massive voter turnout will disappoint ill-wishers and enemies of the country, he said./end
