Iranian Artist To Be Designated Honorary Professor

Tehran, Sept 17, IRNA - Veteran Iranian theater artist Parviz Mamnoun will receive the designation of Honorary Professor from the University of Vienna. The Austrian deputy culture minister will present Mamnoun the honor on behalf of Austrian President Heinz Fischer at a ceremony on September 24. Mamnoun is a theater author, director and actor who has trained numerous students. In recent decades, the artist has staged ancient Persian tales such as Nezami’s ‘Haft Peykar’ in the form of ‘naqqali’ or traditional story telling. Many of his translations of dramas from German to Persian have been printed by Tehran University Publications./end
