Iranian commander advises U.S. carrier not to return to Persian Gulf

TEHRAN, Jan. 4 (MNA) – The commander of Iran’s Armed Forces advised a U.S. aircraft carrier, which had left the Persian Gulf because of Iran’s naval war games, not to return to the sea, otherwise Iran will take action. “We advise, recommend, and warn them that this aircraft carrier (should) not return to its previous place in the Persian Gulf, because we are not used to repeating a warning and give a warning only once,” Major General Ataollah Salehi said during the closing ceremony of the 10-day naval war games which was staged in a large area from the Strait of Hormuz to the Gulf of Aden. “The war games conveyed a message for all countries, either friendly or enemy. And the enemies clearly received the message, and we saw the American aircraft carrier leave the Persian Gulf and enter the Sea of Oman through the Strait of Hormuz,” he said. He added that Iran is not seeking to take any irrational measure, but is fully prepared to repel any possible threat.
