Iranian defense minister welcomes offer to crack code of US spy drone

TEHRAN, Feb. 19 (MNA) – The Iranian Defense Ministry welcomes the proposal put forward by the Iranian Science, Research, and Technology Ministry to help crack the code of the advanced RQ-170 unmanned U.S. spy plane that Iran brought down in 2011, Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said on Saturday. Iran announced on December 4, 2011 that the drone, which had violated Iran’s air space, had been downed by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic but did not say when the incident occurred.
