Iranian FM Condoles Sudan On Plane Crash

Tehran, Aug 21, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi on Monday expressed his condolences to his Sudanese counterpart Ali Karti on the death of some Sudanese nationals in a passenger plane which crashed in Sudan on August 19. In a message to Karti, Salehi expressed condolences and sympathy with the Sudanese nation and government. 'The tragic news of the plane crash which claimed several lives grieved me and the Iranian nation,' the message said. He prayed to God for the peace of soul of the victims. 32 people including the country's Guidance and Endowments (religious affairs) Minister Ghazi al-Sadeq, along with Mahjoub Abdel Raheem Toutou, state minister for youth and sports, and Eissa Daifallah, state minister for tourism, antiquities and wildlife were killed when the plane crashed in south of the country on Sunday./end
